READ: “The Haunting Lie of the Scale” – by Chris Dietz
All too often we get caught up in our workouts, “dieting”, new fads, etc. Take some time to relax and reflect on the things that make life fun and think about why you are doing what you’re doing. There are so many pieces to the puzzle and it’s easy to lose a piece even if it’s temporary. One of the biggest issues I see in the gym are people who want to come in and grind their noses in the dirt while not paying attention to the other aspects. You can’t just workout to get the results you want. A friend and coach had some good words about this exact ideal the other day:
“Fitness should be looked at like a tripod being held up Exercise, Nutrition, and Stress Management(including sleep). If you only focus on one or two without the other(s) then it will eventually fail (plateau, injury, under recover, sickness, etc.). If you workout regularly but aren’t getting results, I would look into the other two areas. Exercising more is usually not the answer until you have fixed your nutrition and stress.” – from Chris Lofland
We have knowledgeable coaches that genuinely want to help you with your goals. If you feel like you’re falling into one of these scenarios reach out and get some insight on how to make things better and work for you. That being said, go out and have some good food, enjoy some good company, and relax and enjoy today!
