I remember finding GVCF on Dooley before you opened, peeking in the window to see all the construction taking place. I couldn’t wait to join. I was apprehensive and, frankly, a little nervous. Because I was your first “new” client, Brandon was willing to take me through the fundamentals in a little over a week. It was just he and I every morning. Once I started attending the real clas, which consisted of Brandon coaching me and Bevin, I realiezed I was in trouble. I had never experienced anything like this before in my 40 years. Yet , I was addicted from day one. The first class offered was at 5:30 a.m., and I’d sometimes have to wake Brandon or Bevin up because they were asleep on the couch. There were a lot of pictures of me resting in the beginning, mainly because there was no one else to take pictures of. So three years later and 30 pounds lighter, I’m still addicted. I treasure the moments I get to work out with B and B. But I also treasure seeing all the people they’ve helped over the years. I’ve seen many people come and go. I’ve seen them grow not only in gym size and members, but also in the talent of coaches and athletes. I run into people who’ve moved and used to work out at GVCF. They say that there’s nothing like the community that B and B built. I’d have to agree. If you haven’t figured it out already, GVCF is something special. If you visit other CF gyms, I think you’ll realize how good we have it here. I’ve met so many great people in the CF community, and it started with GVCF. Where else can you go and meet people from all walks of life, all different shapes and sizes, and just be yourself and not be judged? The community B and B have built is second to none. Thank you, Brandon and Bevin, for changing my lifestyle. You mean more to me and my family than words could ever describe. Happy 3rd Birthday! Lee (the OG) James Lee in your case does OG mean old guy and not original gangsta I just need some clarification Lee J. I’m both James. I got street cred from H-town. Bret Lee that was well said, sir. I too remember working out with just Brandon and me while Bevin stalked us with the camera. I remember the good days when I would be the only person in the 6:30 Friday class (when they had it) doing Filthy Fifty solo with the leftover 5:30 class cheering me on. Good times and looking forward to many more. Happy Bday GVCF!!!
