Hey CF family! Looks like everyone is doing well in the New Year. Great to see.
Just wanted to update everyone with what’s going on with my son, Colten. We brought him home on Sunday, only to have him for a brief time as he had a bad reaction to the meds and we had to rush him back to the hospital on Monday morning. After additional tests, blood work, scans, x-rays etc., we finally came home last night. He’s been diagnosed with a seizure disorder, which is a form of epilepsy. The doctors couldn’t isloate what caused these seizures, so we’re still in the discovery phase. He seems to be progressivey getting better but it is literally a day-by-day ordeal. It is still lhighly ikely that he can have seizures at any moment. As we’ve never dealt with this kind of situation before, we are constantly educating ourselves on this disease. It’s nice to finally be home and sleep in a bed that is made for someonen 6’4″ and eat a little better. My wife and I are sleep-deprived and ready to figure this thing out. My other two boys are worried about their younger brother but I am so proud of how they are dealing with this on a daily basis.
I don’t know when I’ll be back in the “box” because I’m itching to get there. I look forward to seeing all of you soon, looks like I’ve got a lot of “make up” WODs to do. But, as you know, I’m focusing on getting used to this “new” life and making sure my family is healthy. I sincerely appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. I know in my heart that my baby boy will be fine.
