Sunday 10/25/09 R&R

Thanks to everyone who showed up for Ben & Colleen’s State Fair Party yesterday! We had a great time and I am sure there were many bellyaches to follow. So, relax today, get some good food in you, and enjoy the afternoon.

Here is a note on full depth squats pulled from Olympic Lifting: A Complete Guide for Coaches and Athletes - Greg Everett

“The depth of an Olympic squat should not even be a topic of discussion, but because there has been and continues to be discussion among coaches and athletes in sports outside of weightlifting, it warrants at least clarification: proper depth is full depth. That is, full depth is not parallel, and nor is it breaking parallel – it is squatting to the lowest position possible without surgical alteration of body parts.

-Emphasis is mine. It’s time to get used to this philosophy as many of you have noticed it is definitely put into practice around here. Its hamstrings to calves people! Again, have a great Sunday!
